Welcome to Butterfly-Poles

A little bit about me...

Hi, I'm Adrienne, I am a 33 year old mum of 2 boys aged 13 and 14 plus a little girl aged 1 year, working from a studio based in Sittingbourne, Kent. I initially began my journey into the pole world as a bit of a fun way to keep fit. I had little self confidence so decided to choose 1-2-1 lessons rather than make a fool of myself in a big class at the local gym!

I very quickly became 110% hooked some would say obsessed....

Previous to pole I spent on average 4 to 5 hours a week quite frankly working my boll*%$ off lifting weights and running for miles and miles. I felt little results for the work I had put into it. After a few short weeks of pole lessons I began to notice my arms drastically begin to change, the definition was immense!! I began then to cut the gym in favour of more classes.

Within 3 weeks I had purchased my very own new shiny pole...(got to love ebay) and had began to practice at home as well I started to plan my week around pole and book my lessons well in advance in order to fit as many in as possible.

Initially I found I mastered the moves, holds, spins and transitions very quickly but soon learnt that as the moves increase in difficulty so does the challenge of mastering them. Pole at this level is physically and at times psychologically demanding. However I found the more effort I put into learning something new, the more I felt I'd achieved when I finally got the photo of me doing it! I used to show my war wounds off (the bruises acquired learning advanced techniques). They were almost like a testimonial to how hard I had worked.

I was once asked “its just a metal pole, what’s the big deal?” Clearly this lady had no comprehension of what pole means to some people. It becomes part of your life, some use it against depression and feel achievements help them to feel more positive. Others its simply for the workout, however I personally love it, I have developed a respect for it (after falling off many times) and it has become a large part of my life... part of the furniture quite literally!!!

A very good relationship is required between your instructor and yourself. It took me several attempts before I found someone that I worked well with. You need to develop a lot of trust after all they will be instructing you while you are hanging upside down off of a metal pole, most likely by one limb. They will also be responsible for spotting you while you train.

I have up until recently concentrated mostly on gaining my own experiences through pole but now feel in a position to share what I have learned with others in a more professional capacity and look forward to helping you on your journey. I am qualified to teach beginners and intermediate students on a 1-2-1 basis or in a class. I hold a nationally recognised R.E.P.'s certified level two pole fitness qualification I am looking at shortly extending my training to advanced level three and aerial silks.

I am a naturally competitive individual in every aspect of my daily life and am still constantly seeking to further my own experience which in turn will benefit my students. I aim to offer them the highest standards of tuition and hopefully also make some good friends along the way.

Please take the time to have a little look around my website. Any feedback, suggestions or questions are always welcome and I will endeavour to get back to as soon as possible.

I look forward to meeting you, in the meantime please share my website with your friends on Facebook
